I contemplate the meaning of life and better ways to serve one another.

Dave,

My name is Raymond and I am running against John Fetterman in 2028. I am running because I am autistic and I think in systems. I am a twice-published game designer and I have 20 years of professional software development, and leadership experience. I have also studied systems complexity theory and systems collapse theory as it is somewhat tangentially related to software complexity management. I have studied the archeology of the Harappan civilization, the Classical Maya, and the Chaco Canyon civilization. I have studied the late bronze age collapse. I have studied the bible.

Sir, in every single instance of societal collapse in history a few things occur around the same time:

  1. Wealth and power concentrates to the center. In Mycenaean Greece the wealth went to the palatial centers. In the Maya it went to the temples. In Cacho Canyon it went to tribal leaders. In our world it has gone into the hands of around 1200 people, 1 of which has more wealth than the bottom half – 170,000,000 Americans have less than 1 man. Consider that we are there. Wealth has concentrated to the “center”.

  2. There is a sudden increase in monumental building, and state sponsored projects that target enforcing the power of the state. Check. We’re spending ungodly money on ungodly things. Trump throws his face on the DOJ (to be fair he does it to everything, but the DOJ? come on.)

  3. There is a sudden pulling-back of trade with other nations, power, and polities. Check. Tarrifs. Loss of trade with our neighbors Canada and Mexico. Check. Check.

  4. There is a sudden shock to the economic supply due to climate change, or a mass change to the economic system. AI poses this risk, but so does climate change – and let me be clear – in most cases – in the archaeology – climate change almost always precedes societal collapse. Drought causes famine causes war.

We are at a moment in this country where all the wealth and all the power are concentrated into the hands of just a few people, and that circle is closing ever smaller. You will make the same mistake everyone in history makes who is rich, who has the power. You will do all you can to hold onto it. You will kill for it. You will send others to kill for it. And you will pay for that, for eternity, because it is your greed, your wealth, and your power that has led and caused that suffering. This is why Jesus preached against wealth. This is why Matthew 6:24 tells us we cannot serve God and wealth.

We worship the wrong God. We worship Mammon. We must turn back to God, and that means making sure that people have enough.

If you and your billionaire buddies agreed to a 6.5%, across the board wealth tax under my plan, which you pay each quarter, all your money and all of your power will return safely to people, and after 16 years of this, under my plan you will still be the richest people in the world. Senator, I want you to work with me on this plan when I come to congress, and I want you to co-sponsor it with me as a Billionare. I want you to help me convince other billionares that this game needs adjusted.

I can adjust the game in way that is fair to everyone; in a way that is peaceful to everyone; and in a way that keeps the status of the “Billionares” on the top.

Is your wealth really worth the deaths of millions of people, that will result from your hoarding of it? I am telling you, the next shock to the system will result in violent revolution – of which you cannot be saved from. I’m not threatening it. I hope to God it doesn’t come, that is why I am developing this plan now, so we can prevent it from coming.

Tell me what you think about it. I know how to fix this. It’s a system problem. We fix the system, and the levers will rebalance themselves. But you have to be willing to become a multi-millionare instead of a billionare. I know it’s hard, but its necessary to prevent mass devastation. We can implement a shadow points system so you can keep playing the game and earning those dick-measuring points, but the real money needs to return to the people.

Bad things are coming if we do not fix this now. Please help me. Please join me. Let’s work together. Prince and pauper. Hand in hand.

Call me. Email me. Let’s meet here in Pittsburgh. I’m a Quaker. I have a commitment to non-violence. Work with me.

In Reverence, Raymond Chandler III

P.S. Your voicemail is wayyy to short. We need to have a conversation. I want to meet with you as a friend. Let’s meet.

Senator Dave McCormick’s Written Response

Updated Feburary 27th 2026

Senator McCormick has written me back. This is his response.

Dear Mr. Chandler III,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding increasing taxes on high-income individuals and families. Your feedback is essential as we work together to shape policies that benefit Pennsylvania and our country.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBB) (P.L. 119-21) makes permanent the personal income tax rates established by the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. These tax rates reduce taxes for all income groups, with the bill providing even greater relief for lower-income households. Low-income workers stand to receive the largest percentage reduction in their tax liability and the OBBB delivers the largest tax cut in history for working- and middle-class Americans Making these reduced income tax rates permanent is essential to delivering tax relief to families in Pennsylvania, with the majority of benefits going to those earning $80,000 or less. If these tax cuts had been allowed to expire, the average family of four earning about $80,000 per year would have faced at least a $1,700 tax increase.

The bill also enhances and permanently extends the Child Tax Credit, increasing it to $2,200 per child while maintaining the current phase-out for income levels above $200,000. It includes new deductions for qualified tip income, overtime pay, and for seniors over the age of 65. These new deductions explicitly exclude highly compensated individuals. Put simply, Republicans in Congress are focused on tax policy that delivers for the middle class.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve our great Commonwealth in the United States Senate. I appreciate having the benefit of your comments on this important matter. I am always grateful to hear from my constituents.

Sincerely,
Dave McCormick
U.S. Senator

My Response to Senator McCormick

Dave,

I appreciate your response to my proposed wealth tax, dated Feburary 27th, 2026.

In my plan I am proposing we pay families $1,400 a week. Your plan, as part of the standard Omnibus Budget Package offers a $1,700 tax credit for the entire year and a $2,200 child tax credit which has existed in some form, since as long as I can remember.

Sir, I am suggesting payments to families amounting to $72,800 for the entire year for every single family in the bottom 50% and your offer is what? Maybe $6,100 if they have kids and make less than $83,000 a year? Do you even hear the greed coming out of your mouth?

I demand more than peanuts for our residents. Why do you feed us dirt while asking us to grow your crops for you, just so you can get fat and get sick and continue to steal from us? You understand the difference between $72,000 payment and a $1,700 tax credit, don’t you? Did you even read my plan? As a reminder you can view it here: https://www.chandlerforsenate.com/ideas/0004-pay-it-back/

I am going to tax the wealth, of you and every other billionare for 6.5% per quarter for the next 16 years. I am going to take all your money and give it to the people. How do you feel about that Senator? Would you support a redistribution of your wealth to struggling families in need? What do you think about the top 1%, which you are a member of taking 93% of the wealth of Americans over the last 30 years? Do you not view yourself as the evil one?

You cannot serve God and wealth, Senator. Tell me rich man. Will you sell all your things, give all your money to the poor and follow me?

In Reverence,
Raymond Chandler III
